Extra service: Thermal Imaging.
I am certificied by Teletherm Infrared Systems/Research for the use of thermal imaging in Veterinary Clinical Practice. My name is Frederique Drost and I have been working with equines for 45+ years. I have owned and worked with many kind of horses/ponies and with donkeys from all over the world (Curaçao, The Netherlands, Aruba, Bonaire, Texas (USA), South-Carolina (USA), Belgium, Viet Nam, and Australia). In the early 2000 I was a foster home for neglected and abused equines for Habitat for Horses in Houston, Texas. I worked a lot in cooperation with the veterinarian and farrier.
Since I encountered hoof problems with all the horses that wore shoes, I started studying the hoof. More and more I became aware that a shoe is not to the benefit of an equine. And why should it? They have been walking without shoes for millions of years, on hard and soft ground. So why did they suddenly need shoes? To answer this question I started to study equine hoof mechanism, and finally after a 2 year study I got certified as an equine hoof care professional. My work is my passion! |
Everyday, I’m still amazed at how phenomenal the results are and how many bad hoofs I encounter all the time.
